Rosy Baby Cap, New Susan Linn Pattern with Simple and Natural Rose

A New Baby Cap!! This one is so fast and yet delicate...I've only got it in preemie and newborn sizes so far, I'll be adding more sizes in a little while. Here you can see it on my etsy store

Here are my various patterns on Amazon's Kindle Store, ....when you see my patterns as Kindle documents, they're smaller in format and they're unable to be printed out, so I sell them more cheaply than the larger printable versions on my Etsy Crochet pattern store .

NEW Rose and Scarfette crochet Pattern...AND 25% off sale

My latest...and of course my beautiful daughter makes it look twice as good. A simple and easy rosette pattern, worked in the round, no special sewing or piecing required. Add the rose to the scarfette in various ways to make a lovely and feminine, but bold, fashion piece. If you'd like to see this pattern on etsy, click here, and if you'd like to see all my my designs, you can visit my etsy store.

The best thing about crochet is how textured and nuzzly it is; you can use the most wonderful array of colors and yarn weights, and using a simple hook make something so deliciously colored and textured you just want to squeeze it!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Patterns on Sale this Week! and Coral Reef in Crochet...feeling Ambitious?

Check this out...
Its a coral reef in crochet , I can't imagine creating this much crochet (although I suppose there were lots of contributors). Wow, the best I can do is to make a rose or a leaf, maybe a hat. That's about my speed, it's totally no fun at all if I have the weight of a huge project nagging at me. Although admittedly stuff like this is totally cool. Sometimes I want to solicit help with arty granny squares to be made into pillows which will be used to support a really great charity...ah, always new ideas.

Anyhoo, all of my flowers are 30% off today and tomorrow, check out susanlinnstudio to see all of my things. I'm going to try to post a free pattern or two on this blog, just can't seem to work and write fast enough!

Have fun tying yourself up in knots today!

Another Tree Cozy!!!!

You can see a bit about it at http://www.flickr.com/photos/m-i-k-e/5822932558/ but I couldn't link to the post and make the picture visible.

I love it!!!I can't crochet anything big, it's way too overwhelming. Hats are just about as big as it gets, and all hats are off to the tree cozy people.

New One Day Sale on Baby Hat Pattern Set with a Freebie!

Today my Hat Pattern Set is on sale! You can see it if you look at this etsy listing, and I do include your choice of two brand new baby hat patterns; if you look at the last photo on the etsy listing, you can see them.

I have GOT to show my dishwasher basket patch I crocheted from wire, I have to perfect it. I'm starting to think of crochet as the basic building block of all matter, someone needs to stop me!

Have a super day and a wonderful fall season!

Oh! Puddleglum!

A post not about crochet... but sometimes you have to lay down your hook and just think about things like God and Puddleglum. Oh, my, what a quote, did you know that you can search "Puddleglum's Speech" and find this soliloquy? From the "Silver Chair", by Lewis:

"'One word, Ma'am,' he said... 'One word. All you've been saying is quite right, I shouldn't wonder. I'm a chap who always liked to know the worst and then put the best face I can on it. So I won't deny any of what you said. But there's one thing more to be said, even so. Suppose we have only dreamed, or made up, all those things--trees and grass and sun and moon and stars and Aslan himself. Supose we have. Then all I can say is that, in that case, the made-up things seem a good deal more important than the real ones. Suppose this black pit of a kingdom of yours is the only world. Well, it strikes me as a pretty poor one. And that's a funny thing, when you come to think of it. We're just babies making up a game, if you're right. But four babies playing a game can make a play-world which licks your real world hollow. That's why I'm going to stand by the play-world. I'm on Aslan's side even if there isn't any Aslan to lead it. I'm going to live as like a Narnian as I can even if there isn't any Narnia. So, thanking you kindly for our supper, if these two gentlemen and the young lady are ready, we're leaving your court at once and setting out in the dark to spend our lives looking for Overland. Not that our lives will be very long, I should think; but that's small loss if the world's as dull a place as you say."
